This is a 10* O/U BOOKIEKILLER on the OVER Braves/Dodgers. Both teams have been involved in several lower-scoring affairs, including in the Dodgers 4-3 series-opening win yesterday. Note that LA has seen the total eclipse the posted number in eight of its last 12 though after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row. Bryce Elder (1-0, 1.50 ERA) gets the call for the Braves, and Tyler Glasnow (5-1, 2.72) counters for the home side. It's difficult to dig up any negative stats on these guys, so I won't bother. But the overall situation combined with the numbers/trends point to these guys getting the hook early and for this total to fly OVER the number sooner, rather than later. Good luck, NP |

Cubs -119 at YouWager |

This is an 8* PITCHING MISMATCH on the Cubs. After dropping yesterday's opener 3-1, I like Jameson Taillon and the Cubs to find a way to come out on top here on Saturday afternoon in Chicago. The bottom line here is that I feel this is a much bigger starting pitching mismatch than what the oddsmakers are leading us to believe. Tobias Myers is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA for the Brewers, forced into action here out of necessity. Taillon is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA. Look for CHICAGO to bounce back in this favorable spot. Good luck, NP |

This is a 10* TOTAL BLOCKBUSTER on the OVER Leafs/Bruins. So far this has been a really tight, lower-scoring series with only Game 1 eclipsing the posted total. Now here we are in Game 7, and I'm predicting another higher-scoring outcome. Especially at the end of the game here if one or the other has the lead, the team that's behind will be forced to pull their goaltender. Look for goals to be plentiful here in the finale and for this total to fly OVER the number sooner, rather than later once it's all said and done. Good luck, NP |

This is a 6* TOP PLAY on the Nuggets moneyline. I'm going to lay the price and bypass the spread option, as I expect Denver to find a way to deliver in Game 1. Both teams rolled through their Round 1 opponent, but now the Playoffs get going for real in the West. Minnesota lost here 116-107 at the start of April, and I'm predicting a similar final outcome here as well. In what I believe will be a blowout of epic proportions, I'm going to lay the price with confidence and expect just that. The play is DENVER on the MONEYLINE option. Good luck, NP |

Fighting | May 04, 2024 Drakkar Klose vs Joaquim Silva |
Drakkar Klose -160 at SC Consensus |
Won $100 |
Play Type: Top Premium | ||
This is a 10* POM on Drakkar Klose. Here's a fight in the prelims which I think will be way more one-sided than what this spread/line is suggesting. I love playing underdogs. I love playing totals. And I also love playing favorites when I feel that my "play on" side/team etc should/could in fact be MUCH LARGER favorites. And that's the case here between Joaquim Silva and Drakkar Klose. These fighters are similar in many respects. Each has heavy hands and isn't afraid to exchange. Both are also well-rounded on their feet. Klose has the far more difficult resume, and he's looked a lot better since the setback to Beneil Dariush. I really respect Silva at lightweight, but KLOSE is the one poised for a winning night in what I feel is a very favorable matchup. Good luck, NP |

MLB | May 05, 2024 Red Sox vs Twins |
OVER 7½ -119 | |
Play Type: Premium | ||
This is an 8* TOP TOTAL on the OVER Red Sox/Twins. These two teams have been involved in several lower-scoring games of late, but everything finally points to more of a slug-fest here in the finale of this three-game series in my opinion. Boston has now lost three straight after yesterday's 3-1 setback. It's seen the total go UNDER in five straight, but that is significant to note here, as the Red Sox have in fact seen the total fly OVER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row. Minnesota is the hottest team in MLB arguably with 12 straight wins and it hands the ball to Cooper Criswell (2-1, 1.65 ERA), who looks poised for regression, as these sparkling numbers are unrealistic and unsustainable over the short, mid or long-term in my opinion moving forward. The home side counters with Joe Ryan (1-1, 3.18), who has been decent, but who I also believe will "get the hook early." Two really decent starters here in fact, but the overall situation, combined with the above-listed trends makes the OVER the correct call in this series finally here on Sunday in my opinion. Good luck, NP |
